DR. GOPAL DATT BISHT

Dr.Gopal Datt Bisht is known as Father of Indian Steno.Gopal Datt Bisht is the first PHD in India
and the first Indian to set the world record of 250 words per minute in shorthand.He is the
first indian who is recorded in the Guinness Book and Limca Book of Records for his unbelievable
shorthand speed.
Twenty years after leaving school, Dr. Bisht, continued his educations as a dedicated private
student, he did his post-graduation from Punjab university and rewarded as PHD in Stenography.
After starting his career as English stenographer, Dr. Bisht studied and contempleted on Hindi
stenography. He created a special shorthand system of English-Hindi and gave it scientific form
through continuous researchs. He won gold medal six times and set a record. He also prepared
guided liturature of Shorthand. He retired after serving 28 years of parliamentary reporting in
Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
